3 Reasons Why Your Personal Brand Matters Now More Than Ever
Chances are, your day-to-day life may have changed quite a bit in the last two years. Many of us have gone from working in an office to working from home full-time. Many others may have decided to forgo the 9-5 lifestyle and start their own businesses. We may be seeing a lot more of our immediate family lately and a lot less of our other friends and family than usual, and we’ve all certainly spent a lot more time at home than we’re used to in the past two years.
But even with all of these changes, one thing still matters more than ever when it comes to your business: your personal brand! Here’s why NOW is such a great time to make sure your personal brand is up to date and in alignment with your offerings.
1. With less face-to-face interaction, your online presence is key.
Reaching new customers online has always been a great way to build up your client base and grow your audience – but now, it’s pretty much become the primary way to do so. People will “meet” you through your social media pages. They’ll shop your website online before before they’ll show up at your storefront these days. Making sure your online persona is an accurate reflection of who you are and what you have to offer will go a long way! From your website, to your logo, to your personal brand imagery, you’ll want to make sure its up to date during these challenging times.
2. People have more time on their hands – so they’re online a lot more than normal!
How much more time have you personally spent scrolling this year? I know I certainly have been in front of the screen more than what was typical pre pandemic! The reality is that people have more time on their hands to discover new brands because they’re online a lot more than usual. When you create valuable, compelling online content, be it amazing Instagram photos or recipes or YouTube videos, there’s a much higher likelihood that more people will be consuming your content. You’ll need to ensure that your content engages your audience. Then, they’ll be drawn to you and your personal brand.
3. People have new needs – and chances are, you can meet some of them.
As people’s circumstances change, their needs and desires often change as well. With so many people pivoting their careers and hobbies right now, chances are you may have something that is of interest to people now that might not have been in the past. Having a thoughtful, compelling personal brand can help you attract new customers whose problems you’ll solve. This past year, I’ve witnessed many of my photography clients nearly double their income by using stellar imagery on their social media pages that speaks to the heart of their brands mission.
Using this time to polish your online presence, create valuable, relevant content, and reach new clients whose lives you can improve is a win win for everyone involved. There’s never been a better time to invest your time and energy into taking your brand to the next level.
