Mom-tography Workshop~Digital Photography Basics for Moms: Ithaca, NY

I’ve been getting asked by the community for MONTHS AND MONTHS~ and now I’m finally ready! 🙂
TO TEACH!!! WOOHOO! If you’ve been struggling to figure out how to work the settings on your Digital SLR camera that you received over the holidays, or would like a refresher course to boost your confidence and get you OUT of the program modes. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to pick my brain, have your questions answered and actually take what you learn into class into a hands-on environment and practice with children models to refine your skills. This class is for MOMS who want to take better family pictures. (I’m wishing my mom had taken this course about 38 yrs ago, most of my family photos are blurry or have weird red eye and flash marks on my forehead haha)
The aim of this hands-on workshop is to teach local mothers some of the basic camera skills necessary to take better quality photographs of their family and children using their digital SLR camera.

Students will learn how to use natural light as well as how to manipulate their camera settings to achieve the photo they would like straight out of the camera.

This workshop covers:
The Gear, Exposure, Controlling your camera settings
Basic natural lighting considerations, and composition.

This workshop does NOT cover complex lighting, post processing, editing or business techniques. Its intention is to boost or introduce basic DSLR camera skills for recreational photographers and is not intended for other professional photographers.
Sunday, June 10th 1pm-4pm

Investment is $75 per person

This is a 2-3 hour hands on workshop, held at Jamie Love Photography’s home at the foot of the Newfield State Forest in Newfield, NY We will begin with a 1.5 hr lecture, have a 15 minute snack break, and then head out to the forest with some children models to practice your new skills! I will work one on one with you to guide you through any questions you have.

*There is a limit of 8 people per class to ensure that I’m able to provide one on one assistance to each of the attendees.
*This is not a smartphone phone photography class ~ you must have a DSLR camera to participate, if you are unsure about your cameras model type, please feel free to contact me.

This is exactly what I am looking for. Have you set a date in August yet for the next workshop. I’d love attend. I just bought a DSLR after decades of putting my old SLR aside. I need a refresher and help with my new camera settings.
